Bio:
Sherrod Brown is the junior United States senator from the state of Ohio and a lifelong advocate for social and economic justice. Prior to his election to the Senate, he served 14 years in the House of Representatives, where he earned a reputation as a leader in the fight for fair trade and access to affordable health care. Before his election to Congress, Brown served two terms as Ohio's Secretary of State and, in the early 1990s, he taught democracy and government in Poland, as that nation was making the transition from Cold War communism to thriving democracy. He also taught in Ohio's public schools and at the Ohio State University. Sherrod currently resides in Avon, Ohio with his wife, Connie Schultz, a columnist for The Cleveland Plain Dealer, and winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for commentary. They have three daughters and a son.
