Bio: John Soltz is an Iraq War veteran and co-founder and chairman of VoteVets.org. Originally from Pittsburgh, Soltz is a powerful leader in the Iraq and Afghanistan veteran community. Between May and September 2003, Soltz served as a captain during Operation Iraqi Freedom and in 2005 Soltz trained soldiers at Fort Dix for combat in Afghanistan and Iraq. Soltz also served his country with distinction in the Kosovo campaign. He has been widely quoted by the national news media as a critic of the Bush administration’s Iraq war policy. A graduate of Washington and Jefferson College with dual degrees in political science and history, Soltz has also completed graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
