Bio:
Ellynne Bannon is the Director of the Student Public Interest Research Group’s New Voters Project. Since 2004, the project has registered 600,000 18-30 year olds and made 650,000 get out the vote contacts to turn young people out to the polls on Election Day. Previously, Bannon served as a top advisor to Rep. George Miller, D-Calif., on the House Education and Labor Committee, where she played a key role in developing and implementing national higher education policies. Prior to her work on Capitol Hill, Ms. Bannon worked with the PIRGs from 1997 to 2002 as a Campus Organizer in California and Oregon and as the Higher Education Advocate in Washington, D.C. She also served on Youth Vote Coalition Board of Directors. Ms. Bannon graduated from Rutgers University.
