Bill Foster
Bio:
Bill Foster is a businessman, scientist and candidate for Congress. Bill co-founded Electronic Theatre Controls, now the world's largest manufacturer of stage lighting equipment. He then worked for 22 years at Fermi National Laboratory, where he was involved in the discovery of the top quark, and was co-inventor and help lead the construction of the Antiproton Recycler Ring, the latest of Fermi Lab's giant particle accelerators. In 2006, Foster volunteered for the House campaign of Patrick Murphy in Pennsylvania’s 8th congressional district. He wrote get-out-the-vote software that helped the campaign knock on 240,000 doors in the last 72 hours — and unseat a Republican incumbent by 1,500 votes. In the 2008 election cycle Bill is running for Congress for the Illinois seat currently occupied by ex-House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert.
